Anne Karttunen
I am an experienced Production Designer MA, freelancer. I work as a designer both in audiovisual field as with performing arts. I work with pleasure also in other Art Department positions as an Art Director, Set Decorator or Set dresser. I love disco, sauna and traveling by train.
Storytelling with sets is the best job I know, it’s what gets me fired up. I’m interested in exploring the boundaries of conventions and the fringes of narrative, the world’s desolate lands. Working with different media is interesting, completes and keeps you alert.
I identify myself as a narrative designer and world builder, a group-working artist who is responsible for realizing the locations and sets of a script, to enrich the story and notions from the world and allow them to happen. I know my responsibilities to create a safe and inspiring work environment with proper management skills. I also take care of my resourcing and try to focus on sustainability in our field.
I have worked as a teacher on my own field with pleasure. I often have had an honour to work on artist grants and in residencies. I am somehow active in organizations in my field, for the future, development and volunteer work are also my interests.
I have bases in Helsinki and Tampere, and I am free to move with work.
