Tiina Pietiläinen is a Design for the Performing Arts student at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. She finished her bachelor’s degree in June 2023 and continued straight to the master’s degree program. 

Before the Theatre Academy, Tiina worked as a property manager and maker in the Pori Theatre for two years. There she learned a lot about theatre and how a repertory theatre company works. Tiina completed a vocational qualification in property making in Lahti in 2018. In addition, she completed a Master of Arts degree in Textile Art and Design at the Aalto University in 2015.

Tiina has been interested in theatre from early on. She has engaged in theatre practice in the audience as well as on stage. She has acted with the Kultsa Amateur Theatre Company, where she has also operated the light and sound console. As a set designer, Tiina wants to create performances through teamwork while considering also the well-being of human beings and nature.
